Geographical Information

The Knob Reserve is located 3kms from the town of Stratford and surrounds the Avon River.  It has a rocky bluff that sits up about the bend in the river. The entire reserve covers 140 acres of bushland.[1]https://glawac.boojum.com.au/our-country/knob-reserve/

At the crest of the hill a lookout platform has been constructed enabling views down upon the local farmlands, the foothills and the Avon River. 

First Peoples Information

Spanning around 58 hectares and located on the Avon River (or Dooyeedang), it is a traditional gathering place that has been used by the five Gunaikurnai clan groups for thousands of years.

Historically, the reserve has represented common ground where Aboriginal people would come together to feast, share information, trade goods and practice corroborees and other cultural ceremonies.[2]https://www.gunaikurnai.com.au/knob-reserve/about
